DNP-PMHNP
Our Nurse Practitioners, Jen Benally and Lisa Leazenby, have completed their Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Idaho State University. It has been a long three years, and we are glad to have them back full-time.
Jen and Lisa have 28 years of combined practice experience and chose to return to school to further their education. They are now psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, in addition to their family nurse practitioner degrees.
What can a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) do for you?
PMHNPs are advanced practice nurses with extensive training in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health needs.
They work with patients and families to assess, diagnose, and treat anxiety, depression, trauma, mood, personality, and other mental health issues using a complete view of the whole person. Their training specializes in the care of children through older adults to promote health and treat those living with psychiatric and mental health conditions.
PMHNPs utilize several treatment options, including individual/family therapy and prescription medications.
